Welcome To Little Vermilion Lake!
Enjoy a wilderness adventure holiday at a Howey Bay Resort outpost
Little Vermilion which is located 15 miles north of Red Lake is a well known Trophy northern lake. Northern up to 48 inches and weighing 25 to 30 lbs. are caught on a yearly basis throughout the lake. Walleye are also very plentiful. Our guests who visit in the spring and fall always comment on how aggressive the large northern are. Little Vermilion covers approximately 14,000 acres, averages 20 feet in depth and is 15 miles long. Many areas of the lake are 40 to 50 feet in depth and islands, reefs and structure are in abundance. There are two significant rivers and fourteen smaller creeks flowing into the lake and one large river flowing out of the lake. In any given spring, summer and fall cycle the water level can change by three to four feet. The constant movement and changing of the lake water is another of the reasons the fishery is of such high quality.
Howey Bay Resort has two eight person cabins approximately ten minutes apart on the south part of the lake which can accommodate two parties of one large party up to sixteen people.
The two cabins are called:
